A large part of Zululand in South Africa which was given to the Transvaal Boers in 1884. An organised postal service began in December 1884 and in 1886 the first stamps were issued. The New Republic united with the South African Republic in July 1888 and in 1903 the territory was transferred to Natal which became part of the Union of South Africa in May 1910.
