Stamps of Great Britain were overprinted and surcharged for use in terrority in North Africa occupied by British Forces in Eritrea, Italian Somaliland and Tripolitania during World War II. Stamps were issued from 1942 until 1951. Cyrenaica, which the British authorities recognised as having an established leader, issued its own stamps in 1950.
