A British Crown Colony in the West Indies, comprising the five presidencies of Antigua (including Barbuda and Redonda), Montserrat, St Christopher (including Nevis and Anguilla), the British Virgin Islands and Dominica. Each presidency issued its own stamps but the Leeward Islands stamps were vaild throughout the colony. Stamps first issued in 1890 until July 1956 when the Federal Colony was dissolved.
