The southern part of Rhodesia lying south of the Zambezi River. Previously administered by the British South Africa Company it was granted the status of a self-governing colony in October 1923. Stamps first issued in 1924 up until 1964 when it was renamed Rhodesia and then in 1980 it became a republic and is now known as Zimbabwe..
