A former independent native kingdom off the south-east coast of Africa. It was seized by the British in 1879 and issued it first stamps in 1888. In 1897 Zululand was annexed to Natal and its stamps withdrawn from sale in June 1898. The area is now northern KwaZulu-Natal Province in South Africa.
