1928 Envelope addressed to London bearing a very fine strike of the Type IV "TRISTAN DA CUNHA" double ring cachet in purple-red. Upon arrival in England a black "1½d TO PAY SEI" postage due cachet was applied and then the cover was affixed with GB ½d green and GB 1d carmine postage due stamps paying the amount due, each cancelled with an indistinct (London) cds dated 3 DE '28. The Tristan Da Cunha cachet is well clear and unobstructed. No postal markings on reverse. Scarce. SG C4 cat £850.
